Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals claimed to become the first hospital in the world to enter the prestigious Guinness Book of World Records today for performing the maximum number of Cervical Cancer Screenings in day in West Bengal.
Keeping up with its commitment to revolutionize patient care in India, Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals organized a free Cervical Cancer screening programme, as part of the Apollo-YOUWECAN intiative, in which 755 women were screened in a single day in West Bengal, ‘the highest achieved by any hospital in the world,’claimed a release here today.
As many as 11 organizations/NGOs from various locations in WB supported the initiative.
YOUWECAN Foundation was founded by eminent cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
Speaking on the initiative, Hospitals Chief Executive officer Dr Rupali Basu said ‘we are committed to screen at least 1,00,000 people in a span of one year from the time of launch of this initiative and today’s screening camp is a major milestone in meeting this promise.
‘We are encouraged by the response from various NGOs and organizations to have come forward and support our initiative,’ Dr Basu added.
