Notwithstanding a steep decline of seven percentage points to 32 from 39 in May 2009, the Congress is way ahead of its nearest rival, YSR Congress (20 per cent) and the TDP (17 per cent).
The opposition is split into two helping the Congress to maintain its top position despite of political disturbances within the party for last 5 years.
Congress has managed to stick with 32% of vote share and the newly formed YSRCP which is formed as Congress party branch was successful in stealing TDP’s vote share and other parties vote share to gain 20% to stand in second place.
Meanwhile, TDP lost its valuable 8% vote share from 25% to 17% and TRS increased its vote share from 7% to 13% . Overall the loser is TDP ,says the survey.
