Growing up outside one's home state kind of makes one alien to one's culture and heritage and history. By the time I gained some awareness of what is happening around me I witnessed the telecast of the funeral procession of late N.T.R. I despised black and white movies since, childhood because they appeared gloomy but, later came to realise after being an audience to few of them that any real acting calibre if exists in our Indian film industry can be trace4d back to these movies only.
A.N.R's contribution to our Telugu film industry has been tremendous as he was the sole reason that the industry was moved from Madras (Chennai) to Hyderabad. He also facilitated the the transition by being supportive to the people who came forward to take part in the endeavor which later helped in making Telugu film industry gain an identity of its own geographically also. In addition to that he was also supported and encouraged upcoming talents in the industry and sharing his insights with them and mentoring the people who aspired to make a mark in the industry.
He was a protagonist of the movies sans ego though he started his career playing character roles and got noticed for his hard-work and dedication and commitment and total professionalism towards his work. He was a man of few words but, those few words uttered by him had purpose and meaning in them rather than directionless mutterings. He urged his directors and writers to ensure that the people who are also playing a part in his movies get sufficient attention rather than him hogging the whole limelight for commercial purposes.
He was complete family man when it came to his life after the cameras stopped rolling. He headed back to his home where he relaxed and insisted on spending quality time with his loved one's. And, there were also frequent meetings with friends and extended family during the weekends at his home. He was candid about his struggles to attain the fame which he has today also he was a person who found solace in truth rather speaking lies to project himself as a better person, he was a person who was straight-forward to the core.
After his death, many people came forward to share their experiences with him who acknowledged their work, appreciated their efforts and guided them towards a better future and more successes in their respective careers.
A true gentleman, a true legend. Though we will always miss him but, he won't be forgotten for his unforgettable works and words which would continue to remain a guiding light for others to follow in their respective professional lives.
May his soul rest in peace.
