If any one of you folks is familiar with the Madagascar triology of animated comedy of escapades of on the run zoo animals then you know what to expect when the "Cute n Cuddly" penguins get a movie of their own.
Skipper, Kowalski, Ricoh and Private abandon their Madagascar pals and set out on a journey of their own to give Private a surprise for their birthday. In the process they encounter Dave whom has been wronged in past by them unintentionally and who is now set on a path to take revenge on penguins around the world.
Along comes NW (NorthWind) a la CIA/MI6 unit for the animals who can't defend themselves. And, when Skipper, Kowalski and Ricoh collaborate with NW to save the penguins of the world and Private, chaos and mayhem with oodles of humour is what unfolds on the silver screen.
The animation is top notch which has been a DreamWorks standard since long time back. The 3D is more of the kind which adds depth to what's happening on the screen rather than throw things at you throughout the movie.
Given its short run time of around 90-100 minutes and the non-stop humor and spoofs of Hollywood cliches, this one is the best in terms of animated comedy this year beating Lego Movie too.
Do watch it if you like animated comedies in 3D or not.
