Chiranjeevi plays the role of a sadisctic husband in this tamil remake . This movie, directed by K Balachander, rotates around Jayasudha’s character. She falls in love with Sarath babu and decides to elope with him and marry.
But he is pressurized from his family and could not meet her in the last minute. Now, she’s married off to chiranjeevi, who draws pleasure in harrassing his wife. He uses every possible method to humiliate her . One day, chiru is hurt on his eye by few kids and Jayasudha escapes from him.
She meets her new neighbour kamal hassan, a widower and also a ventriloquist. Kamal instantly gets attracted towards her and unable to express his feelings towards her, uses his puppet as his mediator. Jayasudha explains her flashback and leaves the place. Kamal Hassan and Jayasudha get much more meatier roles, while chiru’s role is limited only to her flashback, but he lives in his role by his strange, sadistic histrionics. kamal is a must watch in this movie, especially his scenes with his puppet.
