Chiranjeevi and Sridevi acted together for the second time, after the 1980 hit Mosagadu, in this 1981 hit. He played another negative role opposite Sridevi in this film, but it had many layers to it.
Chiru’s character was that of a rich, spoiled guy who preys on and rapes village girls. Sridevi, after being his victim, goes to his father and becomes educated to entice Chiru to marry after he rejected her the first time. After seeing her in modern outfits, he finds her intriguing, but he also becomes confused because she seems familiar, yet he is unable to remember her.
In order to get him to marry her, she pretends to be engaged to his father, and in the end, Chiru, after being reprimanded by his father, agrees to marry her.
Both gave excellent performances. Sri played the strong village belle who becomes a modern woman to get the amn who raped her very easily.
Chiru showed evil, confusion, and anger to a perfect tee in this difficult role. He delivered on every level of the multi-layered role of a serial rapist who is tortured by one of his victims
