Andhra Pradesh CM rosaiah is planning to expand his cabinet in early september and this time he may include couple of prajarajyam MLAs in his cabinet.
According to indications, it might happen whenever Chief Minister K Rosaiah undertakes reshuffle of his Cabinet, which is most likely to happen during September.
While Chiranjeevi has already dropped enough hints that his party would not be averse to supporting the Congress, the praise heaped on him by PCC president D Srinivas on Thursday is being seen as part of the larger plan to broaden the support for the government which has just enough majority in the Assembly.
“He (Chiranjeevi) is a very balanced leader. He offered support to us but maintained that PRP would not keep quiet if the government takes anti-people decisions,” Srinivas said at a press conference here, leaving none in doubt that the ruling Congress would sooner than later require outside support.
The PCC chief averred that there was nothing wrong in the Congress taking the support of Chiranjeevi. “We are in touch with Chiranjeevi.
Afterall, politics is a numbers game.Sometimes, you may need my support and on other occasions, I may need your support,” he remarked. The PCC chief also found fault with his own party functionaries — actor-couple Rajasekhar and Jeevita — for attacking Chiranjeevi without purpose or reason. The Chiranjeevi blood bank has been doing good work and in any case, a complaint could be made to the appropriate authorities if there were any issues, he said. Sources said Delhi is directly in touch with the PRP chief, who has of late been trying to remain in limelight by undertaking padayatras and other programmes to boost the morale of his party and prevent his MLAs from moving away.
Jagan Mohan Reddy’s camp is said to have been in touch with PRP MLAs since long and is quite confident of poaching at least some of them. This is precisely why the Congress leadership is keen on making the PRP part of the ruling establishment so that the party MLAs don’t desert Chiranjeevi.
Rosaiah is said to have got broad hints from Delhi that the actor is prepared to support the government and, as a quid pro quo, the Congress should back him. Chiranjeevi has also more or less conveyed the same to Rosaiah after his meeting with Sonia Gandhi in Delhi a couple of months ago.
