Sardaar Gabbar Singh (Pawan Kalyan) transfers to Rathanpur a village in Chattisghad – Andhra border from Hyderabad. In Rathanpur he confronts with mining mafia king Bhairav Singh (Sharad Khelkar) who makes life of Rathanpur people very miserable. He loves princess of Rathanpur Arshi (Kajal Agarwal). Even Bhairav Singh want to marry Arshi. Does Pawan Kalyan succeed in his love and saves people from Bhairav Singh? forms the rest of the story.
Pawan Kalyan performance is superb, he carries the entire movie on his shoulders. He did almost everything to entertain his fans to the core. His mannerisms, style, dances, comedy, fights and action were extraordinary. He mesmerizes everyone with his performance.
Kajal Aggarwal really looks like princess and she was beautiful in this movie. She has put down her weight and looks slim. Her chemistry with Pawan Kalyan and performance is good. But she looks dull in some scenes.
Sharad Khelkar looks mighty and did complete justice to his negative role. His dubbing was effective.
All others are good in their respective roles.
Pawan Kalyan was the only saving grace for this movie. He was fully energetic through out the movie and excelled in all the scenes. Its a treat for fans to watch Pawan Kalyan in this avatar. The story of this movie was very old and nothing new to offer. The first half was entertaining when compared with second half. Story and screenplay provided by Pawan Kalyan is very weak. Direction was also not up to the mark, barring some slow motion shots. Some scenes were dragged a lot unnecessarily and narration was not smooth. Editing has some glitches, some scenes were abruptly ended and connection between the scenes is missing. DSP music and background score was good. Comedy is very silly in this movie, even though there are so many comedians in this movie but they were not utilized properly. Dialogues are average. The makers wants to repeat superb Anthaksari scene from Gabbar Singh with Sangeeth in Sardaar but failed miserable and looks impotent. Much hyped veena step by Pawan Kalyan looks average. Rathanpur set by Brahma Kadali is impressive. Cinematography is beautiful, captured some great shots. Ram Laxman did a fabulous job in fights. Tauba Tauba Song and O pilla songs pictured superbly. Productions values are rich.
Its a treat for fans to watch Pawan Kalyan in this avatar. But story, screenplay, comedy and direction were beaten to death.
