Vijay Khanna is aggressive young cop who is unable to change his attitude and this leads him in 22 transfers in 5 years. After an altercation with some ruling party members in Hyderabad ,he is transferred to MumbaiIn Mumbai, Vijay Khanna comes across the murder case of a Deputy Collector in the hands of Oil Mafia headed by Rudra Pratap Teja (Prakash Raj).Vijay Khanna also comes across Maya (Priyanka Chopra), an NRI who is eye-witness of the murder case and seeks her help giving shelter in his house. The rest of the story is about how Vijay Khanna fights against the system and his battle with Teja.
Ram Charan has stepped into the role of Big B as angry young man. His mannerisms and expressions made his a perfect angry young man. His screen presence also seems amazing. On the performance front, Ramcharan limited himself to a single point face expression in order to live in the character. Ram Charn has taken entire film on his shoulders and managed it.
Priyanka Chopra is pretty and is extremely hot in Pinky and Mumbai Ke Hero songs. But her characterization could have been better and her scenes looked silly at times.
Prakashraj was regular into basics adding the touch of humor to his villainy. He is well supported by Mahie Gill, who appears as Mona. Their conversations are filled with ‘double meaning’ dialogues.
Srihari fits the role but he is not used fully. Tanikella Bharani did a good role. Rest of the cast did ok job.
Actually there is nothing in this movie to analyse everything is a bull shit. Boring screenplay, slow narration, worst direction, lazy execution makes the film unbearable to watch. The plot is quite superficial and predictable. Misplacement of songs is another negative aspect of the film. Romantic scenes between Ram Charan and Priyanka Chopra could’ve been better no emotional depth in it. I don’t who scored Background Music, it is worst . Editing is bad and you get the dubbing feel through out the movie. Dialogues are not well written. Apoorva Lakhia fails in almost all departments. Second half seems a bit better than the first half, only because of the torture in first hour. The emotional bonding between Vijay Khanna and Sher Khan which was a major highlight of Zanjeer which is totally missing here.Few action sequences and Ram Charan-Prakash Raj would entertain a little bit.The short run-time is bonus to viewers. Ram Charan performance is one and only big asset in the film.
I think Thoofan is not a remake of Zanjeer it looks far older than it. Only thing we can say is Ram Charan made a good debut in Bollywood as an Actor. Wait for DVD !!!!!!!
